How do you stay true to yourself as a creator? In this solo episode of the Live Through Love Podcast, Ruben talks about how to create art that is driven by love and makes an impact while staying true to yourself as an artist. He speaks on the power of saying “no” as a creative and why it’s okay (and even beneficial) to turn down opportunities and requests from others. Stay tuned to hear a poem Ruben wrote about hope, dreams, wishes, and taking action.

“If we are our most authentic self, we’re the truest expression of our self and we’re truly acting from love.” - Ruben Rojas

With all the major cultural events, political battles, and wars going on throughout the past few years (and still currently), it may feel difficult or near impossible to consistently stay true to yourself, your beliefs, and your unique message.

The truth is that you don’t have to voice your opinion on every single thing that’s happening in the world. You don’t have to make a post on social media about it, you don’t even have to talk about it with friends and family if you don’t want to. That doesn’t mean you don’t care, you’re not current with what’s going on, or you don’t have compassion and empathy for the people who are in crisis. Choosing what and how to express yourself is still a challenge for some creators, but give yourself grace in these moments. Consider holding space for those creators that DO feel called to speak out and take action on those issues.

With that said…

Ask yourself:

What is the driving force behind the impact you want to have on the world?
How can you positively impact the world in ways that feel aligned and authentic to you?
What is your greatest hope and how can you make it a reality?
How do YOU live through love?
